My Story
I knew I wanted to teach since my time in high school as I was very passionate about books and Shakespeare, which inspired me to share that passion with students one day. I began my journey of becoming a teacher by attaining my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba with a major in English and a minor in History. I also have a background in Women and Gender Studies, and Religion Studies.
In between my BA and B.Ed, I took some time to work and take some time to discover myself as an adult first before diving into teaching. In my Bachelors of Education at the University of Manitoba, my focus is in the Senior Year stream but I am working towards the Letter of Acknowledgement for Teaching English as an Additional Language and inclusion. It my hope to eventually attain a Post Baccalaureate Diploma and Master's Degree in Inclusion Studies or Literacy. My passion for inclusion stems from my understanding and struggle with acquired neuro-diversity and a lack of trauma sensitive classrooms growing up. Through learning about this through my Education degree I hope to better serve students who may struggle with the same difficulties as I did.
